This template generates a dagger symbol with alternative text. The default alt text is "dagger". The text is not normally visible to readers, but may be displayed by web browsers when images are switched off, is read out loud by screen readers for those with visual impairment, and can be used by search engines to determine the content of the image.
Usage
{{dagger}}produces dagger{{dagger|alt=footnote}}produces footnote
(Either the symbol or the alternative text is displayed, according to the browser settings.)
