Khurwia is the brightest star in the night sky. Its name is derived from the Classical Dhimze word Xuruiā, meaning 'bloom' or 'flower', due to its position in the Adziulas constellation. The star is designated 1. Ādziulek in Dhimze designation, latinized to α Alkannae or Alpha Alkannae.
