During the aftermath of the bombing, Petscher would lose at least 20 members in the Purple Banner, mostly those who feared retribution or execution by the Tschintierst government.

Patscher Mårpånunooss (Tschintierst: p-cher-mr-p-nu-nós-fo-nonid; 4547 – 4585 CY) was an Tzalist agitator and revolutionary during the Years of Red. He was notorious for leading the Militia group known as the Purple Banner, a group of Tzalist agitators and revolutionaries responsible for at least 3 bombings and 2 assassinations. He was the most wanted man in the Gintem Confederation for several years until his capture and arrest in 4584 CY.

Early life

Patscher was born to a middle class family in the city of Öröön, the capital of Såskybuutscho. His father was an accomplished businessman and his mother a former nurse. He lived a mostly comfortable life in urban Öröön, and would frequently cause trouble for the local beats along with his various playmates. Patscher’s early life would be largely uneventful, and he would move to Kunroom in 4572.

Revolutionary activity

In 4578, Udi Tzalos would publish Capital and the Working Man, the defining text of the Tzalist movement. The treatise would quickly spread amongst younger students in universities across the Gintem Confederation. During this time, Patscher would meet several like-minded young men seeking to create change amongst the monarchies of the Gintem. They would form the Purple Banner (a play on the Red Banner) as a Tzalist Cadre/Vanguard group dedicated to the destruction of monarchism and capital in the Gintem Confederation. The group totaled about 32 people, mostly from the University of Kunroom, and would began planning their revolutionary activity.

4579 Öröön Bombings

In 4579, Petscher and his group would launch the first of several bombings throughout the group’s history. Two bombs, planted in strategic locations near two local constabularies, killing 11 police officers and wounding 12 others. The bombing came as a shock to the local government, who had never dealt with any terrorist activity. An official investigation was launched to determine the potential culprits, but testimony was lacking, and most evidence was eviscerated by the explosion. The city would be held in lockdown, but Petscher and his group would slip out of the city unnoticed. Petscher used his local connections and Tzalist sympathizers among the working class of Öröön to cover his tracks, and the case was not connected to him until the bombings the next year. Due to a lack of progress in the investigation, it effectively went cold until 4580.

4580 Assassination of Könii Neewskiiss

In 4580, the Purple Banner would carry out a planned assassination of Könii Neewskiiss, Marcheche’s 2nd Representative in the Tranzgenschaden. Könii, who was a well known member of the Tschintierst People’s Party, was due to give a speech outside Bacham's Skhalema in Kunroom. Patscher and his group would infiltrate and set explosives beneath manholes in the sewers of Kunroom, placed almost directly under where Könii was due to stand. The explosives would be lit following a signal from a watchman as Könii approached the platform. As Könii stood on the platform, and began to open his mouth, the explosives detonated. The resulting explosion would kill him instantly, kill several policeman in his general vicinity, kill 3 civilians, and wound 72 others. The explosion would also ignite natural gases within the sewers, causing explosions that caused shockwaves and damage throughout the sewer lines. A fire would break out in the sewers as well. The immediate aftermath of the attack was chaotic as nurses and policemen flooded the scene, and the fires that ignited in the sewers would cause a foul smell to rise in Kuroom for days. During the investigation, the police would discover several pamphlets detailing the motivations and goals of the Purple Banner. Petscher and his group had left these in hopes that it would cause unified action among the working class against capital. The police quickly identified a list of members within the group, including Petscher, who all had not been seen in classes since at least 4578. During the aftermath of the bombing, Petscher would lose at least 20 members in the Purple Banner, mostly those who feared retribution or execution by the Tschintierst government.
