The Doccábhic languages or Greater Doccábhan languages are a language family including Doccábhan proper and the dialects of the Chwyvin language. They form a branch of the Yasgan language family. The most important of these was the Classical Doccábh language, the language spoken by the Doccábh empire. The other languages, including Chwyvin, became extinct at some point after the 22nd century CY, as the Doccábh empire expanded and banned Chwyvin from being spoken.
Today the Doccábhic languages largely survive as the Parutschan languages, with Chwyvin being relegated to names of festivals and gods in historically Chwyvin lands. Other languages have very little historical evidence towards them. These were considered dialects of Classical Doccábh in their time, and official documents did not include them.
Classification and history
It is generally believed[by whom?] that a subgrouping of Yasgan including Tschintieric and X??? existed in the eastern portion of Northern Yazland, and some time before the 12th century CY the group split and the Doccábhic speakers migrated north, settling close to the tip of the continent, nearby the North Yasgan culture.
