Throughout Tevethi history, this statue has appeared numerous times in many different locations along the Samatkhaoul River. The first mentions of the Weeping Stranger appear during the Meso-Tevethi period, which attributes the statue to the pre-Imdjic Chamices. The last reported appearance of the Weeping Stranger occured in 4601 CY, appearing on a farm on the outskirts of Ottex, for a period of several weeks until its unexplained disappearance.
