Dzego (Dhimze: dzego) is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking or carrying a ball to score a goal. Unqualified, the word dzego generally means the form of dzego that is the most popular where the word is used. Sports commonly called dzego include federation dzego, X, Y and Z. These various forms of dzego share, to varying degrees, common origins and are known as "dzego codes".

All dzego codes trace their origins back to a ball game in Ancient North Yazland known as asneati, which served as the basis of modern dzego. Asneati was originally played by soldiers during training, but by the 19th century CY the game was also played by civilians during religious festivals, as well as children.
