The Black Wars (4596–4602 CY), also known as the Etzavaz Wars were a series of conflicts pitting the Oldirian Union and its allies, led by Name Nameson, against a coalition consisting of the major powers of the region and their allies and vassals. It was one of the bloodiest armed conflicts on Jotunnheim to date, until the Copper War which immediately followed it. The wars are named 'Black Wars' after the ash and soot that would cover battlefields as a result of the widespread use of incendiary weaponry. The conflict is generally split into three conflicts: the First (4596–4598), Second (4598) and Third (4599–4602) Black Wars.
