Éttenist Kunwidya is a branch of Kunwidya spread primarily throughout western and central Ashnan. Named after the first Geoneu of the Phelo Empire, Étten the Conqueror, the sect originates from the schools of Kunwidya thought that reached the inland plains of western Ashnan. One of the more divergent sects of Kunwidya, it places heavy focus on the perceived servants of Widya, and the construction of a hierarchy of heaven.

Hierarchy of Heaven

Followers of Éttenist Kunwidya center much of their beliefs around the Hierarchy of Heaven and one’s own place in it. Influenced by the traditional Hoggic practices of the pre-Kunwidya era, heaven is divided into multiple castes in which all humankind resides. X

Differences from Orthodox Kunwidya

Unlike Orthodox Kunwidya, Éttenist Kunwidya does not believe in the divine heritage of the Dyaway of Wadiin. Messengers of Widya in Éttenist Kunwidya are a meritocratic phenomena, being earned through holy and righteous deeds and cementing their place in the hierarchy of heaven. Étten the Conqueror as well as the Prophet are the two who sit at the top of the hierarchy, just under Widya, an idea considered controversial or even heretical to the Experts of Wadiin. X
