The Lartema is the the bicameral legislature of Dhimrai, and may also legislate for the other constituent countries and Overseas Crown Territories of the Commonwealth of Dhimrai. It meets at X Palace. It was founded in its current form in 4328 CY, following the coronation of King Askeli V of Dhimrai, which marked a democratization of the government, giving all men over 30 years of age the right to vote, regardless of land ownership. Since 4609, all women over 30 have also had the right to vote.

The Royal Assembly is the elected lower house of the Lartema, with elections to 612 constituencies held at least every five years. Members of the Royal Assembly hold their seats until the next election, with no limit on terms. The House of Laws is the upper house of the Lartema, comprising two types of members. The most numerous are the Judges, appointed for life by members of the Royal Assembly and the Delegate. Unlike in the Royal Assembly, each county gets only one representative. The less numerous Priests consist of 20 priests of the Western Misraist Faith.
