The Jaara people, named after the city of Jaara in northwestern Khobeh, are an indigenous Nkungu ethnic group of mixed Hlong and Gara origin primarily inhabiting the northwestern area of Khobeh. The Jaara are the result of contact between Hlong peoples in the north and an influx of migrating Gara tribes from the west during the 24th century CY. Historically, Jaara people were also largely involved with the Hlong Rebellion leading to the founding of Mongklor in 2332 CY.
